Guwahati, September 16 (NKTV): The Government of Assam has decided to destroy 2,479 rhino horns, as decided in the cabinet meeting held today.
Assam Forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya said that there are a total of 2,623 rhino horns available in the state. “Out of total horns, 50 numbers are under court cases and the government would preserve 94 horns for various purposes” he added.
The 94 horns would be reportedly kept at the Kaziranga Natural History Museum.
