5th Edition of Guwahati Cyclothon Successfully Draws Over 200 Eco-Conscious Riders

The much-anticipated 5th Edition of the Guwahati Cyclothon took place on Sunday. Over 200 cycling enthusiasts in a spirited rally from Guwahati to Pobitora. The event underscored the values of sustainability, environmental consciousness and road safety in Assam, with participants warmly welcomed and refreshed at the scenic Arya Eco Resort in Pobitora.

With a commitment to creating a cleaner, greener city, the Guwahati Cyclothon promoted important values like reducing litter, honking, and pollution on the roads, while encouraging responsible behaviors like no spitting and keeping the city clean. This year’s motto — “Clean Environment, Clean City, Healthier Us” — resonated strongly among participants and partners alike, highlighting the event’s vision of a future with safer roads, cleaner environments and a healthier Assam.

Guwahati Cyclothon was made possible by the support of distinguished partners, including State Bank of India (Green Partner), NEDFi (Eco Partner), NEEPCO (Sustainability Partner) and UBP (Associate Partner) with additional support from OK Northeast and Cafe By The Way. These collaborations reflect a shared mission to build eco-friendly and sustainable practices within the community.

This year’s route featured a stop at Arya Eco Resort in Pobitora, where participants were welcomed with refreshments and an atmosphere of camaraderie that enhanced the event’s spirit. “Hosting the Cyclothon at Pobitora allows us to highlight the incredible natural beauty around us while advocating for responsible tourism and environmental stewardship,” said Jubee Baruwa on behalf of the organizers.
As the Cyclothon continues to grow each year, the event strengthens its impact on the city’s sustainability goals by fostering greater environmental responsibility and safe road habits. Organizers are hopeful that each ride will bring Assam closer to a greener, safer, and more conscious society.
