Noted film director of Assam Sambhu Gupta succumbs to Covid-19
Noted film director of Assam Sambhu Gupta have succumbed to Covid-19 on 10.50 pm at GMCH on Sunday. The deceased was diagnosed with dreaded coronavirus and was in hospital since 8th May. Initially he was admitted to Apollo hospital in Guwahati and then transferred to GMCH on 10th May for further treatment.
Sambhu Gupta was one of the prominent film director of Assamese film industry. He was director of many popular films ‘Devi’ and ‘Prem aru Prem’. He had also written screenplay dialogues for many popular Assamese films like ‘Joubone Amoni Kore’, ‘Jun Jole Kopalot’, ‘Maa Tumi Ananya’ and others.
The chief minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma has also paid condolences on the demise of the famous director.
