Modern English School, Kahilipara Guwahati, took a significant step towards preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Assam by organizing a mesmerizing Sattriya Utsav event. The event, held on September 30 at the school premises, showcased the vibrant and graceful Sattriya performances, offering a unique cultural experience to the attendees. The utsav aims to draw the new generation’s attention towards the values and ideologies left by Mohapurush Sri Sri Shankardeva and Mohapurush Sri Sri Madhavdeva among the students.
During the festival, students performed Borgeets and delivered speeches stating the significance of the Sattriya culture in Assam. Various other activities were also performed like Dihanaam, Sattriya Nritya, Mati Aakhora Nritya, Chali Nritya, Bhortaal Nritya, Guru Bandana Performance, and a short glimpse of Bhaona performance. Mrs. Sabita Saikia, Vice Principal of Jugal Bandi Sattriya Academy, also graced the event.
