Fugitive Diamond Merchant Mehul Choksi captured from Dominica in a dramatic manner

Evading businessman Mehul Choksi has been captured from Dominica in a dramatic manner while trying to flee to Cuba. The 62-year-old fugitive businessman had gone missing earlier this week from the Caribbean island of Antigua and Barbuda, where he had fled in 2018 after a ₹ 14,000 crore fraud in the Punjab National Bank (PNB).

According to reports, Mehul Choksi had reached Dominica and was on his way to Cuba before being caught by the local police and is currently in custody of Dominican Police.

Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi, had escaped India in January 2018, weeks before the PNB scam came into light. Later, it became known that he had taken citizenship of Antigua two months before the PNB scam.
