Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the second phase of Ahmedabad Metro from Sector 1 metro station in Gandhinagar today. He took a metro ride from Sector 1 to GIFT city. This extended line will connect Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar and GIFT city.
Later, the PM is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than 8,000 crore rupees at GMDC ground in Ahmedabad, in a short while today. Prime Minister will flag off the country’s first Namo Bharat Rapid Rail between Ahmedabad and Bhuj and several Vande Bharat trains including Nagpur to Secunderabad, Kolhapur to Pune, Agra Cantt to Banaras, Durg to Visakhapatnam, Pune to Hubballi, and the first 20-coach Vande Bharat train from Varanasi to Delhi.
The Prime Minister will sanction more than 30,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin, release the first instalment for these homes and launch the construction of houses under the PMAY Scheme.
