Assam Cricket Association AGM held at Kaziranga

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) was successfully conducted on 14th December 2024 in Kaziranga. The meeting was presided over by ACA President Mr Taranga Gogoi, with the presence of Secretary Mr Tridib Konwar, Joint Secretary Mr Rajendra Singh, Treasurer Mr Chiranjit Langthasa, Apex Council members, and representatives from affiliated district units.

A detailed review of player performances and strategic planning for the future took centre stage during the AGM. Discussions focused on developing a roadmap for nurturing young talent and strengthening Assam’s cricketing presence across all age categories.

In a major decision, the House has given consent to give permanent affiliation to 6 playing member units as they fulfil the criteria set by the affiliation committee.

The AGM also underscored the importance of grassroots cricket development. Key initiatives include expanding talent identification programs at the local level and enhancing training and support for budding players. This approach aims to build a strong foundation for the future of cricket in Assam.

Additionally, significant emphasis was placed on infrastructure development. Plans to upgrade and expand cricketing facilities across the state were reviewed, reflecting ACA’s commitment to creating a world-class cricketing ecosystem.

Speaking on the occasion, ACA Apex Council Members expressed confidence in the progress made and reaffirmed their dedication to the growth of cricket in Assam. Recognizing the support of cricket enthusiasts across the state, the association pledged to work tirelessly to elevate Assam’s stature in Indian cricket.
