Assam kick off Uttarakhand National Games campaign today

Assam will kick off campaign in the 38th National Games 2025 in Uttarakhand on Sunday. The National Games will be formally inaugurated on January 28 but triathlon will begin tomorrow. The men and women’s triathlon teams of Assam have already reached Haldwani, Uttarakhand on January 21. Triathlon is going to be held at Manaskhand Tarantal in Golapar, Haldwani.

International medallists Biswajit Deka, Tushar Deka, Devika Sarma and Nupur Deka will represent Assam in the men and women’s singles events. It’s worth mentioning that Assam won a medal in triathlon for the last time in 2007 when the 33rd National Games were held in Guwahati.

Meanwhile, Assam Deputy Chef-the-Mission Hiren Gogoi arrived in Uttarakhand today. The state beach handball team also reached the National Games venue today. Beach handball will begin on January 27 at Shivpuri.

Meanwhile, Assam Olympic Association Secretary Lakshya Konwar and a delegation of the association’s officials will arrive in Uttarakhand tomorrow. The Secretary will personally supervise the accommodation arrangements for the players of the state contingent. Assam will participate in a total of 22 disciplines in the National Games this year. A contingent of over 300 players and officials will represent Assam in the mega event.
