Wishes him long and healthy life to bring many more laurels to the state

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited the veteran artiste, eminent Satriya Dance exponent Jatin Goswami at the latter’s residence at Noonmati and on behalf of the people of the state, congratulated him on being nominated for the prestigious Padma Bhusan Award.

            Dr. Sarma while eturning from Dibrugarh after winding his three day tour to the district, upon reaching Guwahati, directly visited the Nrityacharya’s residence and congratulated him on his accomplishments. He spent time interacting with him about his life-long devotion which earned him several recognition and brought many laurels to the state. Dr. Sarma acknowledging his remarkable achievement, said that the honour bestowed on him would help him and his followers to take forward Assam’s rich Satriya dance transcending all boundaries.

            During his conversation with him, upon listening to the Nonagenarian dancer’s suggestions for a few measures for the promotion of Satriya dance, the Chief Minister assured him, all steps would be taken to empower the Satriya dance so that it can flourish and become a bridge of unity among the people of different geographical territories. The Chief Minister also wished him a long and healthy life so that he can continue serving the state as well the nation with his cultural dedication and accomplishments.
