Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog has presented the state budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the state assembly on Monday.

  • Close to 1.2 lakh jobs delivered. Another 40,000 plus on the anvil this year. Government’s promise of 1 lakh Govt jobs fulfilled.
  • Government is allocating ₹773 crore to continue with our entrepreneurship support scheme Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan.
  • State Government is launching the biggest effort to support the aspirations of our youth completing graduation through a motivational support of ₹2,500 per month through the Jibon Prerana scheme.
  • The Government is taking accelerated efforts to provincialize eligible schools and improve conditions for tutors.
  • The Nijut Moina scheme has transformed the lives of lakhs of girls in Assam. The Government will continue to support this scheme to boost girl child higher education and fight child marriage.
  • Assam has witnessed a 250% rise in budgetary expenditure while capital expenditure has risen to ₹24,964 crore in 2024-25.
  • Assam has one of the lowest Debt to GSDP ratios in the country.
  • Assam has witnessed a tremendous increase in its GSDP growth and per capita income.
  • Unemployment rate has gone down significantly in Assam and labour force participation rates have shot up.
  • The Assam Government is allocating ₹5,000 crore to carry forward with our flagship Orunodoi scheme which will cover over 37 lakh women in Assam.
  • The Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan will begin from April 1, 2025 in Behali. Government is allocating ₹3,038 crore to encourage women entrepreneurs.
