The Governor of Assam has officially declared a local holiday on March 15, 2025, in observance of the Dol Jatra (Holi) Festival within the Kamrup (Metro) District. As per the announcement, all state government offices, educational institutions, and financial institutions in the district will remain closed, allowing residents to celebrate the vibrant festival.

This holiday declaration aligns with Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, and follows the Government of India’s Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. 20/25/Pub-I dated June 8, 1957.

Holi, the Festival of Colors, marks the arrival of spring and celebrates the victory of good over evil.
