UP Minister urges unity amid Holi celebrations, tells dissenters to leave India

Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister and President of Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal, Sanjay Nishad, on Thursday (March 13, 2025) expressed strong views on the spirit of Holi celebrations. Speaking at a Holi Milan event in Gorakhpur, Nishad said, “Holi and other festivals promote unity, just like people embrace one another during Friday prayers.

These festivals are meant to bring people together, but some politicians are trying to sow division. A particular group is being misled, but they are citizens of this nation. If anyone has a problem with Holi colours, they should not only stay indoors but leave the country altogether.” Nishad, who also serves as the Minister of Fisheries in the state government, emphasized the importance of togetherness during festivals.
