Music maestro AR Rahman was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai’s Greams Road on Sunday morning following complaints of neck pain. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin provided a health update on social media, assuring fans of the composer’s well-being.
Rahman was brought to the hospital around 7:30 am, where he underwent several tests, including an ECG and echocardiogram. Initial reports indicated he had experienced chest pain and may need an angiogram. However, his manager later clarified that Rahman’s condition is stable, and he is expected to be discharged in a few hours.
In November 2024, Rahman and his ex-wife Saira Banu made headlines after announcing their separation after 29 years of marriage. Banu shared that her health issues influenced the decision, but assured that they would continue to support each other. The couple has three children: Raheema, Khatija, and Ameen.
