IMD Warns of Heatwave and Weather Fluctuations Across Several States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for several states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Punjab, where maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next few days. The heatwave is likely to last for the next four to five days, posing risks to public health, particularly for vulnerable groups.

In addition to the heatwave, the IMD predicts a drop in temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the following three days after the peak heat period. This temperature fluctuation is expected to disrupt daily life and could be harmful to people’s health.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour are anticipated to affect Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Karnataka, and parts of East and Northeast India for the next five days.

Authorities are urging residents in these areas to take precautions against extreme heat and stay updated on weather forecasts. The IMD will continue to monitor the situation closely and issue further updates as needed. This change in weather patterns highlights the importance of being prepared for unpredictable climatic conditions as the summer season sets in.
