Human Rights Commission issues notices to the Centre, Assam and Mizoram over Assam-Mizoram border row

Guwahati, August 24 (NKTV): The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Sunday issued notices to the Centre and the Governments of Assam and Mizoram over the interstate border row on July 26, where six Assam Police personnel lost their lives.

Acting on a complaint dated July 30, 2021 from one Md. Injamul Haque, who is a Guwahati-based law student, The NHRC has asked the concerned parties to submit a report within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt.

Haque had alleged that the Mizoram Police had opened fire on officials from Assam as well as civilians.
