Guwahati, July 2 (NKTV): The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has expressed concern over the reports placed before the Education Department and state government on the marks evaluation process prepared by two high empowered committees for HSLC/HSSLC examinations under the SEBA and AHSEC.
Addressing media persons today in Kokrajhar, ABSU President Dipen Boro and General Secretary Khanindra Basumatary said that the students union has vowed to appeal and demand to review the decision of appearing another examination for those aspiring for government jobs.
“We have been eyeing for equal status. There should not be separate marksheet/certificate for continuing higher studies and applying for jobs” ABSU said. The student union leaders said that students should not be deprived their equal opportunity and justice in terms of qualification.
ABSU leaders also demanded use of Bodo language in the recruitment examination under Assam Judicial Services as Bodo language is now Associate Official Language in Assam and recognised in Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
The ABSU has sought Government of Assam’s intervention into the use of Bodo language in the examination of Assam Judicial Services.
