ADTU: 6th Regional Conference organized by faculty of nursing

The Faculty of Nursing, Assam down town University organized 6th Regional Conference on “Enhancing Research Methodology: Empowering Effective Dissemination and Utilization of Research Studies” on June 28, 2023. The conference started with registration at 8.00 am where all the participants were given the registration kit. A total of 79 participants from various institutions of the North-East regions attended the conference.

The conference was observed by Ms Sangita Kalita, Associate Professor cum Vice- Principal, from Hayat Institute of Nursing who was nominated as CNE observer by Assam Nurses’ Midwives’ & Health Visitors Council.

The formal inaugural ceremony commenced with welcome note delivered by Prof (Dr.) Nirmali Gogoi, HOD cum Associate Dean, Research, Faculty of Nursing, AdtU. The inaugural lamp was lighted by the dignitaries which was followed by the address from Prof (Dr) Pranveer Singh, Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, AdtU where sir appreciated the initiative for organizing the conference with the right theme.

The theme of the conference was unveiled by Prof (Dr) Manashi Sengupta, Dean, Faculty of Nursing AdtU. The dignitaries were felicitated with saplings followed by release of first edition of newsletter by the dignitaries. The pre-test form was distributed among the participants.

The scientific sessions started soon after the inauguration. Prof. Asru Bagchi, Principal, West Bengal Government College of Nursing, Kolkata, talked on the sub-theme “Advancement in Research Methodology: Its Challenges and Best Practices” during the conference. The sub-themes of “Data analysis and interpretation: Advanced analytical technique and tools” and “Dissemination strategies and effective utilization of Research studies” were covered by Prof. (Dr.) Dibyojyoti Bhattacharjee, Professor, Department of Statistics, Assam University, Silchar, Assam, and Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Professor, Dept. of Medical Surgical Nursing, MAHE, Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal, respectively. The post-test form was distributed after the session.

The scientific poster presentation was organized which was taken part by the students from B.Sc. Nursing 4th years of Faculty of Nursing, AdtU. The judges for the scientific poster presentation were Prof (Dr) Biswaprasun Chatterjee from Faculty of Science and Prof. Rakesh A. Afre from Faculty of Engineering, AdtU. The best three scientific posters were awarded.

Cerificates along with newsletter were distributed to all the delegates during valedictory session. The feedback report of the conference was read out by Ms. Sangita Kalita, CNE observer from Assam Nurses’ Midwives’ & Health Visitors Council. The post- test result denotes that majority (68%) of the participants had good knowledge which showed that the conference was effective. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Alonka Beypi, Lecturer, Faculty of Nursing, AdtU. The conference came to an end at 4.00 pm followed by National anthem.
