Guwahati, August 14 (NKTV): A group of Assam Congress delegation on Saturday met Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi after the formation of new APCC committee in Delhi. After the meeting, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Kumar Borah said “Our leader Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi clearly said that in the backdrop of BJP’s divisive policy, Congress will not tolerate indiscipline in the party leaders at any cost irrespective of ones position in the party.
Responding to media query on a planning by APCC for upcoming 05 by election for Assam Assembly Election, Bhupen Borah further added that Party High Command had already directed APCC to fight the upcoming by election under the leadership of Debabrata Saikia, Rakibul Hussain and other three leaders of APCC for each Assembly Constituency.
Meanwhile, responding the role of Akhil Gogoi with Assam Congress, he congratulated Akhil Gogoi’s role as an MLA and further said that APCC will try to maintain cordial relationship with him.
About the continuation of alliance with BPF and AIUDF, Debabrata Saikia said that the alliance will continue as of now and we discuss this issue with our leaders separately, if AIUDF does not come with us then Congress will fight alone in the upcoming by-polls.
