Amishi Saikia Tops Assam HSLC 2025 as ASSEB Declares Results; Sivasagar Leads District-Wise Pass Percentage

The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), officially declared the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2025 results today, bringing an end to weeks of anticipation for lakhs of students across the state.

This year’s results were particularly impressive, with stellar performances by students from Pragya Academy, Jorhat, and Assam Jatiya Vidyalaya, Guwahati. Amishi Saikia from Pragya Academy clinched the top rank with an exceptional score of 591 marks. Close behind, Saptarswa Bordoloi of Assam Jatiya Vidyalaya stood second with 590 marks, while third position was secured by Anirban Borgohain of Pragya Academy, scoring 589 marks.

In terms of overall success, boys outshone girls with a pass percentage of 67.59% compared to 61.09% among female candidates. Among the districts, Sivasagar led with the highest pass rate of 85.55%, followed by Dibrugarh at 81.10% and Dhemaji at 80.64%.

Out of 4,29,449 registered candidates, 4,22,737 students appeared for the exams held from February 15 to March 3. Of these, 2,70,471 students successfully cleared the exam. A total of 89,041 students bagged first division, 1,35,568 secured second division, and 45,862 achieved third division. Additionally, 5,336 candidates earned distinction marks, 16,517 received star marks, and 1,68,312 were awarded letter marks in various subjects.

Despite the overall success, 6,712 candidates were absent, 22 results were withheld, and 101 students were expelled for misconduct during the examination.

Students dissatisfied with their results can apply for re-evaluation or rechecking through SEBA’s official portal. Furthermore, the board is set to announce the schedule for the HSLC Compartment Exams 2025 for students who did not pass in one or two subjects.
