Guwahati, June 21 (NKTV): Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today launched 55 ambulances of the ‘Dial 108 Emergency Response System Ambulance Services’ at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar.
The ambulances were flagged off by Chief Minister Pema khandu in presence of Health Minister Alo Libang among other dignitaries.
Nodal Officer (PPP) of National Health Mission Dr Bombey Tayeng informed that, as per the program under the Directorate of Health Service (DHS), 78 numbers of Basic Life Support Ambulances have been procured.
“As of now, the state has only patient transport ambulances whereas other states have already started the 108 ERS Ambulances since 2005 under the NHM, where citizens can dial the toll-free number and seek help for emergency services” Dr Tayeng said. A separate call center has been established in Itanagar which was inaugurated by the CM, Dr Tayeng informed.
It may be mentioned here that 33 ambulances have already been distributed to various districts in view of the Covid situation. Today, 55 were flagged of by the CM.
The Chief Minister also launched the Maha Tika Vaccination Drive by handing over boxes of vaccine doses to the Health Department.
Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation Tame Phassang urged the public to obey Covid behaviour by using masks and taking necessary precautions.
