Guwahati, July 6 (NKTV): In a joint operation of the Excise Department and Police in Sonitpur, Arunachali liquor worth over Rs 50,000 have been seized. The liquor has been seized from one residence from where illicit sale of liquor was going on.
It may be mentioned here that the number of Covid cases has been on the rise in the region and Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta had announced Sonitpur district as one of the seven total containment zones.
“We have been conducting raids regularly since the last few days and this is one among the major bust. Illicit sale of Arunachali liquor has been going on at a large scale here” said officials of the Excise Department.
