Assam CM Attends Passing-Out Parade of 70 New Deputy Superintendents of Police

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the passing-out parade of 70 newly trained Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), including 62 from Assam Police and 8 from Mizoram Police, on Friday. During the event, CM Sarma extended his best wishes to the officers and praised those who received medals and trophies for their outstanding achievements during the training.

The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation for the role of the state police in advancing Assam’s development. He emphasized the importance of police officers remaining attuned to the needs of the public, encouraging them to involve the community in the collective effort to combat crime.

“I reiterated their important role in ensuring that the peace and security that we have in the region are maintained in the coming days. With 62 of these officers from Assam Police, including 19 women officers, our security at the district and co-district levels will be strengthened. They must continue with people-friendly policing,” CM Sarma stated in a post on X.

The event marks a significant moment for the state police, as these officers complete a rigorous training course that will enhance security and law enforcement efforts across Assam.

Earlier, CM Sarma also inaugurated the fifth edition of the India-Japan Intellectual Conclave, titled Kizuna: Co-creating Ecosystems for Change: Technology, Education, and Logistics, in Guwahati.
