Assam CM to be announced after legislature party meeting on 9th May in Ghy
The suspense and speculations continue regarding who is going to be the next Chief Minister of Assam. BJP national president JP Nadda has held 3 meetings today, one each with Himanta Biswa Sarma and Sarbananda Sonowal individually, and the third with both together.
There are probabilities of a legislature party meeting at Guwahati tomorrow (9th May). The announcement regarding the next CM of Assam will be made then, said Himanta Biswa Sarma in a quick bite to media in New Delhi.
According to sources both the high profile leaders will be back in Assam by today evening itself. The delay in the announcement has drawn criticism from the opposition parties given that Assam is waging a grim battle against the Covid-19 second wave with cases surging at a rapid rate each day.
