Assam Flood | Over 3.6 lakh people affected in 950 villages

Guwahati, August 31 (NKTV):  As per the latest ASDMA reports, 3,63,135 people have been affected by flood in Assam across 21 districts.

The affected districts are Barpeta, Biswanath, Cachar, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong West, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Morigaon, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, South Salmara and Tinsukia. It may be mentioned here that 950 villages have been affected by flood in these districts.

Reportedly, one house has been damaged in Jorhat.

The Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) along with the SDRF are engaged in rescue operations in Dhemaji.

44 relief centres that include 16 relief camps and 28 relief distribution centres have been opened in the state to help the flood victims.
