Assam Govt initiates Asom Ratna, Asom Bibhushan and Asom Bhushan awards
Guwahati, June 09 (NKTV): The Government of Assam, in the cabinet meeting on June 08, has decided to initiate the Asom Ratna, Asom Bibhushan and Asom Bhushan awards in line of the Bharat Ratna and Padma awards.
While the Asom Ratna would be presented to one person who has made a significant contribution towards society, the Asom Bibhushan would be presented to three, the Asom Bhushan to two and the Asom Shree to 10 persons every year. The awards will carry amounts of rupees five lakh, three lakh, two lakh and one lakh respectively along with other benefits.
