Assam: Oath taking ceremony likely to be held on 10th May

After the BJP national observers announced Himanta Biswa Sarma as the new Chief Minister of Assam, all eyes are now on the oath-taking ceremony of the cabinet ministers and the chief minister himself. Today on 9th May, Himanta Biswa Sarma was elected as the legislature party leader and is likely to meet Governor of Assam by 4 pm today.

The swearing-in ceremony is likely to take place on 10th May at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra auditorium at Panjabari, Guwahati and it is being readied to host it, according to sources. Reports also claim that the cabinet ministers will be decided by tonight and all with take oath on 10th May.

Earlier, outgoing chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal had resigned from his post.
