Guwahati, September 7 (NKTV): Regarding two kidnapping cases registered in Dispur Police Station and Khetri Police Station respectively. The Assam Police based on human intelligence as well as technical support, after persistent follow up by East Guwahati Police District, in the Khetri Police Station Case the victim and accused were located in Lanka, Hojai District. The victims in both these cases were minor girls. In both cases the accused seem to have lured the girls.
In the Khetri case the accused, one Md Amanuddin (22yrs) was arrested in Lanka, Hojai and had been brought to Khetri Police Station. The victim girl was rescued and necessary legal steps taken.
In the Dispur Police Station Case the accused and the victim were tracked by the Investigating Officer in a bus bound for Dhubri from Goalpara. Chapar PS helped by intercepting the bus and tracing both the accused and the victim. The accused namely Prashad Majhi (30 yrs) S/o Sadananda Majhi, PS- Tarabari, Dist- Barpeta was arrested, the victim rescued. Both are being brought to Dispur PS for further course of legal action.
