Assam Warriors Sports Academy clinched a convincing 5-1 victory over Kasa Football Coaching Center in Dream Sports Championship U-17 Football Competition in Guwahati on Tuesday.
Kasa Football Coaching Center took an early lead, courtesy a penalty kick from Sasang Hengna in the 9th minute but Assam Warriors levelled the scores in the 13th minute as Sibam Sonowal brought the Warriors back in the hunt. The Assam Warriors Sports Academy stretched the lead to 2-1, thanks to Mohammad Arish Ipham’s 35th-minute strike and then showed more dominance in the second half scoring three goals.
Sonowal scored his second goal of the match in the 51st minute while Rabi Konwar and Gitartha Protim Sonowal struck one each in the 68th and the 80th minute respectively to wrap a win for the side.
In the other fixture of the day in Guwahati leg, Salbari Rebels United FC held Luit Football Academy at 2-2 draw. The Luit Football Academy had taken an early lead after Lalthasanga scored the first of his two goals in the 12th minute and then followed it with another one in the 34th minute.
But Salbari Rebels got off the mark before the end of first half, courtesy Ganesh Choudhary’s 42nd-minute goal but went into the half time trailing 1-2. Salbari Rebels had been on the backfoot in the second half before Ruhit Murah struck in the 84th minute to score the equaliser for his team and took the game towards a draw.
