Guwahati, June 27 (NKTV): In another proud moment for the state, Assam’s Shiva Rani Kalita has made it big at the Ottawa Indian Film Festival Awards 2021.
Shiva Rani Kalita has successfully bagged the Best Actress Award at the Ottawa Indian Film Festival for her lead role in the Assamese film “Bridge” directed by Kripal Kalita. It may be mentioned here that last year, the award was bagged by none other than acclaimed actress Seema Biswas. Notably, this is Shiva Rani Kalita’s debut role in a film.
Kripal Kalita’s maiden big screen shot “Bridge” hit the headlines in late January when the Jury in the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held at Panaji in Goa nominated it for the coveted ‘Special Mention Award’.
It may be mentioned here that Bridge till date has been officially selected in over 20 national and international film festivals.
