BJP Set for Historic Comeback in Delhi, Dethroning AAP After Decade-Long Rule

In a dramatic political twist, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to return to power in Delhi after a 27-year hiatus, leading the race with a commanding 42 out of 70 seats. This comes as a shocking turnaround from the BJP’s dismal showing in the 2020 Assembly elections, where they secured only a handful of seats.

As vote counting nears completion, the BJP has already clinched 6 seats and is on track to sweep out the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which had dominated Delhi politics for the past decade. AAP, which swept the last two elections with near-total victories, has managed to secure just 6 seats and is trailing in 16 others.

In a crushing blow, the Congress party has failed to make any impact, not securing a single seat and facing the prospect of a third consecutive electoral rout in the national capital.

With this dramatic shift in power, Delhi is set to witness a new chapter in its political landscape, as the BJP looks to reclaim the throne it last held in 1998.
