Bodoland Pig Mission launched in Kokrajhar

Guwahati, September 11 (NKTV): Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Government of Assam Atul Bora today ceremonially launched the Bodoland Pig Mission in a programme held at the Bodofa Cultural complex in Kokrajhar.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro and Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma were also present.

The Bodoland Pig Mission is a new initiative for farmers to make Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) a Piggery hub in the days to come. The mission was initiated by the BTR administration to create awareness on self-reliant livelihood in the region.

Reportedly, over 35,000 farmers are going to be engaged in the Bodoland Pig Mission across the districts.

“It is step to transform traditional livelihood into sustainable economic activities. The mission is expected to reach out all areas” said Pramod Boro.
