BTC EM Dharma Narayan Das conferred with Honorary Doctorate
Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) executive member for Tourism department, Dharma Narayan Das has been conferred with honorary Doctorate from the University of America for his tremendous services towards socio-economic upliftment in the remote areas in the Baksa district. Das, who graduated from Sainik School of Goalpara, started his small tea plantation initiative in 2008 at his Kumarikata area and in many remote areas in Baksa district and now the small tea grower’s number increased to 350 across the entire Baksa district with over 10,000 populations are relying on their tea plantation crops.
Das was first elected to the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly in 2015 from the Kumarikata constituency and elected for a second consecutive term in 2020. The University of America has conferred the honorary Doctorate on 24th November last to Das for tremendous services in bringing encourages livelihood earnings among the society.
