BTR to get 1.5 lakh houses under PMAY-G scheme

Guwahati, July 31 (NKTV): The Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) minister Ranjit Kumar Dass announced construction of 1.05 lakh houses in Bodoland Territorial Region under the Pradhan Mantri Awaj Yajona-Gramin(PMAY-G) at the cost of Rs. 1300 crore. Talking to media in Kokrajhar on Friday evening, the minister said under special consideration, the state government has decided to sanction construction of 1 lakh 5000 houses in Bodoland Territorial Region at the cost of Rs.1300 crore those are coming from the below poverty line especially in remote areas across the four districts.

The process will start in August 2021 and will be completed by 2022 next. He also said the state govt has handed over charge for creation of 690 contractual posts in Panchayat and Rural Development department of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
Das who was on a two days visit to Kokrajhar attended a review meeting of P & RD department schemes on the implementation of projects under the schemes like PMAY (G), MGNREGA etc. The minister in his speech, said implementation of the projects shall be done properly so that poor people shall be benefited by the help of a hundred days working formula under the MGNREGA scheme.


He said if the P&RD department of BTR is fully implemented and then equally Assam also will be developed. He said officers must perform their duties in a transparent manner and expedite these development programmes accordingly. He said it is the responsibility of the officials to select the actual beneficiaries and the projects are implemented in a time-bound manner.
The review meeting was attended by BTC deputy chief executive member Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, executive members Dr. Nilut Swargiary, Arup Kr. Dey, Principal Secretary P&RD Dr JB Ekka, commissioner P&RD Hemen Das, senior department officials, block development officers among others.
