BTR wants peace and harmony, not violence: Kokrajhar Congress chief on ULB

Guwahati, September 17 (NKTV): Senior Congress leader and vice president of Kokrajhar District Congress Committee Mazhaharul Islam has shared his views on newly floated United Liberation for Bodoland (ULB), an armed militant organisation in Bodo belt.

The ULB militant organisation was reportedly formed on 15th September to put pressurise for Bodoland’s state creation within Indian constitution. Mazhaharul Islam said that the newly floated ULB militant organisation is not acceptable at the moment.

He said that the citizens from the region wished an integrated, peace and harmony among the society post-BTR peace accord on 27th January (2020) where four factions of NDFB, UBPO and ABSU signed in the peace accord.

He said that people from the region don’t want any arms rebellion as well as violence among the society in the region. The Kokrajhar Congress chief also blamed the state government for the rising up of new militant organisation in the region.
