As a precursor to the World Standards Day an inter-college event was organised by BIS Guwahati branch Office with its NGO partner NEAID and hosted by SBMS College, Sualkuchi. As a part of the event, slogan writing, poster drawing and extemporaneous speech competition was organised in the college.

The theme for this year is Shared Vision for a Better world– Incorporating SDG-3. The winner of these competitions will be awarded at the World Standards Day Final Event on 14th October 2023 at Hotel Ratnamouli Palace, Basistha Charali, Guwahati.

Also as a part of its youth to youth connect programme the students are expected to spread awareness about certified products among their peers by playing a video embedded in the quality connect app and register their feedback through it.

As a part of the World Standards Day Celebration and in order to develop Quality culture in the society and do away with the cheap low quality goods being dumped by foreign countries it is essential to create awareness among the masses about certified products.

Students form the host college i.e. SBMS college along with nearby colleges viz. Bamundi College, Bamundi; Pub-Bongshar College, Pacharia; Binandi Chandra Medhi College, Ramdia, participated in the competitions.
