Candle lighting program in Kokrajhar protesting against killing of suspected ULB militants

Guwahati, September 21 (NKTV): A candle lighting program was organised in front of Kokrajhar Law College yesterday evening in protest against the recent encounter of suspected ULB militants. (Read news here)

Members of the Bodoland Law Student’s Organisation and Assam Law Council participated in the candle lighting program and demanded a high-level judicial inquiry into the encounter.

The students’ body also submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma through the Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar and sought a judicial inquiry into the incident.

The student body also demanded for providing adequate compensation and legal help to the family members of the deceased.
