Guwahati, July 3 (NKTV): An accused cattle smuggler has reportedly received bullet injury in a firing early this morning in Kokrajhar district. The incident took place at Shukanjhora area under Fakiragram police station around 3 am in the morning, when the accused cattle smuggler tried to flee from the hands of police after trying to snatch arms.
Police later resorted to fire to stop him and accordingly accused person recieved bullet injuries. He was immediately rushed to Barpeta medical college for further treatment. The accused person was identified as Saranjit Chinna(39),who was involved with cattle smuggling cases along the Srirampur of the Kokrajhar district. He was brother in law of cattle smuggler Rubi Reddy of Srirampur. Police administration has initiated strict against the cattle smuggling incident across the district.
