Chhattisgarh: 10 Policemen, Driver Killed In Blast By Maoists

Maoists on Wednesday detonated an IED, killing at least 10 personnel of the District Reserve Guards (DRG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and a driver near Aranpur in Dantewada district in the tribal Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.

According to reports, the Policemen were returning from an anti-Maoist operation. Chief Minister of Chattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel condoled the incident.

Taking to Twitter Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his condolences to the martyrs. He wrote “Anguished by the cowardly attack on the Chhattisgarh police at Dantewada. Have spoken to Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister and assured all possible assistance to the state government. My condolences to the bereaved family members of the martyred Jawans.”
