The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has decided to cancel the ICSE class 10 examinations. Earlier, the board had deferred the exams stating that students will be given a choice on whether or not they wish to appear for the class 10 board exams.
However, the latest notice of the board read, “The options (which were) given in earlier circular, now stand withdrawn. The safety and wellbeing of our student and teaching faculty is our topmost priority and of paramount interest.”
CISCE has asked the schools to start conducting online classes for Class XI. Schools have been asked to start admission to Class XI at the earliest.
The ISC (class XI) exams scheduled to be held from May 4 still stand postponed due to the pandemic situation and no further notification has been issued as yet.
Earlier, CISCE said a final decision on conducting the class 12 examinations will be taken in the first week of June. “The Covid situation will be closely monitored and the deferment of the ICSE and ISC 2021 examinations will be reviewed and a final decision on the conduct of the board examinations will be taken by the 1st week of June 2021,” it said in a release.
