New Bhawan named Lok Sewa Bhawan

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated the new Chief Minister’s Office named Lok Sewa Bhawan at Janata Bhawan premises here today.

The Chief Minister before inauguration of the new bhawan, planted a Rudraksh sapling in the premises and performed a special puja. The new block will accommodate the offices of the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary. The new block marked as ‘I’ has been named ‘Lok Sewa Bhawan’ since it will be completely dedicated to take public service and welfare to a greater height. The fifth storey building has been constructed encompassing all facilities for the employees to render their services.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “With the blessings of the people, Assam gets a dedicated Chief Minister’s Secretariat which will be known as the Lok Sewa Bhawan.” With the inauguration of the building, public services can be expedited for the benefits of the people of all sections.

The Chief Minister said that prior to the construction of the new bhawan, Chief Minister’s Office was accommodated in the building of the home department which caused inconvenience with regard to space. However, with the inauguration of the new building, the entire establishment of Chief Minister’s Office as well as Chief Secretary’s Office will have ample space to work more smoothly and efficiently. Moreover, the energy efficient building is designed and constructed with an eye to create an ambience ideal for all employees. Cabinet Ministers, senior government officers, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
