Guwahati, July 14 (NKTV): The chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated Axom Automobiles Private Limited, a dealership of TATA Motors, at NH-37, Borsojai in Guwahati in presence of Forest and Environment Minister Porimol Suklabaidya, Water Resources etc. Minister Pijush Hazarika, UDD and GDD Minister Ashok Singhal and MLA Nahorkotia Taranga Gogoi,
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that while automobile industry has been passing through tough times all over globe due to Covid-19 pandemic, opening a new dealership is indeed a bold and courageous move on the part of Sanjive Narain. Terming him as a promising entrepreneur, the chief minister also hailed his role towards promotion of the state’s culture.
The chief minister also said that this venture will help the unemployed youths as it will primarily deal with small commercial vehicles.
Underlining TATA Groups’ long association with Assam, the Chief Minister mentioned about the TATA Son’s contribution to chief minister’s Relief Fund and TATA Trust’s endeavor of setting up 17 cancer hospitals in Assam. He also urged TATA Motors to come forward for producing vehicles in Assam. Rajesh Kaul, VP (Sales and Marketting), TATA Motors and Sanjive Narain, proprietor, AAPL was also present on the occasion among others.
