CM Sarma Extends Greetings to the People of Assam on the Occasion of Durga Puja

On the auspicious occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Assam. In his message, Dr. Sarma reflected on the deep roots of Sanatan civilisation and culture, where the worship of deities has always been a guiding light. He noted that these sacred traditions reflect the essence of Indian spiritual philosophy, nurturing a sense of divine connection.

The Chief Minister reiterated that Durga Puja, a festival celebrated since the Vedic era, continues to inspire individuals to move forward, grounded in the principles of humanism and moral values. He stated that Sharadiya Durga Puja is not only a religious festival but also a celebration of love, brotherhood, and solidarity, bringing people together in a spirit of harmony. Dr. Sarma stated that the rich tradition of Durga Puja, prevalent since the times of ancient Kamrupa, showcases the cultural heritage of the state. He emphasised that the festival’s essence- of triumphing over evil to uphold truth- brings with it waves of peace and harmony. The Chief Minister expressed his hope that the Sharadiya Durga Puja would inspire everyone to work collectively in strengthening the spirit of unity and mutual cooperation across Assam.
