Guwahati, June 20 (NKTV): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, as a part his Upper Assam tour, visited Brahmaputra Valley Fertiliser Corporation Limited (BVFCL) in Namrup on Saturday and took a comprehensive review of the status of its plants and proposed efforts for commissioning of fourth plant.
The Chief Minister enquired about the reasons for the sub optimal performance of the PSU and discussed to find out ways and means to make the plant commercially profitable.
Sarma suggested more professional approach and transparency in the management of the PSU besides adopting innovative approach to make the PSU more profitable. The Chief Minister also interacted with the employees union and the contractual employees of BVFCL during his visit.
Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli, Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Power Minister Bimal Bora, MLAs Taranga Gogoi and Teros Gowala were also present in the meeting.
