Guwahati, August 09 (NKTV): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the Assam-Mizoram Border issue. Sarma had earlier met Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the same.
Both Assam and Mizoram in a joint statement had agreed to take forward the Centre’s initiative of letting neutral forces patrol the disputed areas along the border.
Earlier this month, Mizoram Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the current border situation and how to diffuse the tensions between the two states.
