Guwahati, July 4 (NKTV): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will today hold a meeting with leaders of the minority community to discuss the population issue. CM Sarma will reportedly be discussing the population issue with 150 Muslim intellectuals during the meeting.
Sarma had earlier informed that he had met All Assam Minority Students’ Union leaders and they said that population is an issue and needs to be solved.
It may be mentioned here that CM Sarma had earlier stated that overpopulation is the primary reason for illiteracy and poverty among the Muslim Community.
“This can’t be a controversy. People should welcome if somebody is trying to eradicate poverty and illiteracy among minority people” Sarma said.
