Co-WIN server crashes after vaccine registration started at 4 pm

The servers of the Covid-19 registration mobile apps crashed after registration opened for all citizens above 18 years at 4 pm today.

The servers of Co-WIN website/app, UMANG app and Aarogya Setu app crashed immediately after registration started.

Reportedly, a huge traffic of people into the server to get registered as soon as the registration began led to the malfunction. Soon after the servers crashed, screenshots of cowin.gov.in not responding flooded the various social media platforms.

However, the technical glitch was fixed immediately and the ‘Aarogya Setu’ Twitter handle posted, “Co-WIN Portal is working. There was a minor glitch at 4 pm that was fixed.”

A sincere request to all fellow citizens – please remain patient. Everyone will get to register and be vaccinated at the earliest. Sometimes the server crashes if load is high. Now, CoWin portal is working fine.#AarogyaSetu #otps #VaccineRegistration

Another tweet asked the citizens to be patient as everyone will be registered for inoculation.
