South African fast bowler Corbin Bosch has been slapped with a one-year ban from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) following his last-minute withdrawal from the 2025 season. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the decision on Thursday, April 10.

Bosch, 30, was selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category during the PSL draft earlier this year. However, he opted out of the league just weeks before the tournament’s start, choosing instead to join Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as a replacement for the injured Lizaad Williams.

In a public statement following the announcement of the ban, Bosch expressed regret over his decision:

“I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community.

The PSL is a prestigious tournament, and I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions. To the loyal fans of Peshawar Zalmi, I am truly sorry for letting you down.

I take full responsibility and accept the consequences, including the penalty fine and the one-year ban. This has been a hard lesson, but I’m committed to learning from it. I hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans.”

Bosch’s decision has sparked conversation around player commitments and scheduling conflicts between major T20 leagues.
