Covid-19 infects various govt officials in Kamrup Metro

Frontline workers continues to get infected as the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic hits Assam. A police personnel named Nazrul Islam succumbed to Covid-19 at about 7 am on 22nd April at the Kalapahar Covid-19 hospital. The deceased was serving as the personal bodyguard of a session court judge.

Islam hailed from Suktaguri of Mandataka, Kamrup district. The death has brought immense shock and grief among his family members and relatives.

Meanwhile, Manash Das, appointed as the driver of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro has been tested positive. He was admitted to MMCH on 18th April and is currently undergoing treatment. The cook of DC Biswajit Pegu, Bisma Das was also tested Covid-19 positive and is under home quarantine.

On the other hand, Rubul Sarma, district officer of Kamrup Social Welfare Department was found to be infected by Covid-19 and is undergoing treatment at GMCH since 14th April. None of the aforementioned patients have nay travel history.
