CSK continues winning streak, beats SRH by 7 wickets in IPL
Continuing the winning row, MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 7 wickets at the IPL on Wednesday, the 28th April.
Winning the toss, SRH captain David Warner decided to bat first and managed to score 171 runs in 20 overs. Manish Pandey scored 61 runs 46 balls, while opener David Warner scored 57 runs but for 55 balls. In the end overs, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson’s quickfired 26 of 10 balls and helped SRH reach 171 in total. As for CSK, Lungi Ngidi took 2 wickets and Sam Curran got 1 wicket.
Chasing the target of 172, CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis took of with a splendid start and added 129 runs for the opening partnership. Gaikwad scored 75 of 44 balls and South African, Faf du Plessis scored 56 runs of 38 balls. Both the openers set the tone of CSK innings which helped to gain an easy victory over SRH by 7 wickets.
Ruturaj Gaikwad got the man of the match and with this win CSK has also regained the top spot in the IPL points table.
There will be two matches today. In the first match, Mumbai Indians will be facing Rajasthan Royals in Delhi.The second is between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Ahmedabad.
