After cyclone Tauktae had hit the western coast of India few days back another cyclone named Yaas likely to hit the eastern coast of India by 26th May. The Meteorological Department of India has notified that a low pressure area is expected to form over north Andaman Sea and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal around May 22. However, it will intensify into cyclonic storm by May 24.
The cyclone Yaas would likely affect the north Bay of Bengal near Odisha-West Bengal Coast around May 26. The two states have been pushed with high alert while the NDRF and disaster management are on stand by.
Meanwhile, northeastern states like Assam and Meghalaya to be lashed with heavy rainfalls and thunderstorm while the meteorological department has already issued expectations of severe rain in these two states.
